PRESS RELEASE

New York (May 10, 2010) Demdex, the pioneer of turn-key online audience management solutions, today announced it has secured $6 million of Series A funding led by Shasta Ventures. The round also includes investments from existing investors First Round Capital and Genacast Ventures, a venture fund affiliated with Comcast Interactive Capital. The new funding provides Demdex with the resources to aggressively expand its market-leading audience management capabilities.

Demdex provides a single point of integration through which Fortune 500 companies can seamlessly and easily utilize all the leading technology and data services including demand side platforms, dynamic creative optimization, data exchanges, ad servers, content management systems, and much more. Demdex enables customers to continually adapt to the rapidly evolving online advertising landscape without being tied to a particular technology provider or data source. As a result, its services are being embraced by some of the world’s most recognized brands across diverse industries including automotive, travel, media & entertainment, and ecommerce.

“There has been a fundamental shift in online advertising whereby audience data is increasingly being decoupled from the media, making it the single most powerful element to enable the personalization of content and advertisements,” said Jason Pressman, Managing Director of Shasta Ventures. “Demdex provides the critical component required for companies to maximize the value of this data and to compete effectively in the new online marketplace.”

“New advertising technologies and data sources seem to emerge every day which makes choosing the right channel partner like hitting a moving target,” said Gil Beyda, Managing Director of Genacast Ventures. “Demdex gives customers unparalleled flexibility to capitalize on the new opportunities being created, without the risk of being tied to a particular provider that may soon have inferior technology or data.”

“Investors with real-world operational experiences are best suited to help pioneer new industries,” said Randy Nicolau, the co-founder & CEO of Demdex. “We are fortunate to be partnering with the Shasta Ventures team as they have deep operational experience with top-notch online companies and can play a critical role in Demdex’s continued success.”
